Delay interactions in All-New Captivate

I am trying to create an interaction where there are several images on a slide representing topics. I have different states of these images to clearly show when selected and visited. When the image is clicked, an interaction changes the state of a corresponding text box and also plays the audio file related to the text content.

Here is how I'd like this to work:

Click on the image, see the text, hear the audio. Audio completes, image state changes to visited, a variable is updated to indicate completeness of this section, and what all sections are completed the Next button appears.

This doesn't quite work how I'd like it to. because if you click on IMG 1, listen to some audio and then click on another image right away before the audio is finished playing, you could blast through them all without really learning the material. I'm trying to figure out how to delay a next action by a certain interval so that the other IMGs won't become clickable until the audio for the selected IMG is finished playing.

I know this is a common refrain, but you could do this easily in Classic and it seems fundamental to want control over the timing of things like this, especially if the training is required.

Has anyone discovered a way to delay an interaction by some time interval?

Thanks!

Mary

Indeed, I could point you immediately to a blog explaining such a workflow. Captivate Classic had the command 'Delay Next Actions by...' and I would use it in a shared action, because some parameters change (like the duration of the audio clip) to make it easier to reuse.

Second approach which pops up is using the Timeline and micro-navigation.  Lot is lost here in Charm as well, and the team answers that you have to replace them by bookmarks and use of the timeline. However my efforts to check the possibilities of bookmarks have been so far very frustrating. If I have the courage to try out if it could work in this case during the weekend, I'll be back with an answer. I fear not to be successful because the frame navigation system variables have disappeared as well, using the timeline is not that easy anymore.

Thank you @Lilybiri. If anyone can sleuth it out, I'll bet it's you!

I'll poke around more and see if there is something that might work. It is maddening that something that worked so easily in Classic now requires contortionist manuvering to get the same functions in All-New. Sigh. The learning journey continues.

I am afraid that I have to disappoint you.

Due to my attitude of loyalty to Captivate, I have tried to figure out workflows in the new version using the few enhancements it has like bookmarks. But the result was all but satisfying. That means that I am very close to giving up.. To me it feels like Adobe is killing a great eLearning authoring tool, by trying to replace it with a completely new terminology, UI, workflows. All with as goal to make it 'intuitive' and 'responsive projects first',  let the application control the designer, the developer.. instead of the reverse. Is real learning still important? More than most users, I was very aware of the exsiting bugs and issues in Captivate 11.5 due to my constant presence not only in this forum but in many forums around Captivate.  My first passion is teaching, coaching but this transition where you have to unlearn everything you know about a tool is incredible for a teacher. There are no experts around for New Captivate, at least I don't see them as promised in this forum nor in the eLearning community (where my blogs are sometimes banned for weeks, probably because they are a lot about comparisons between Classic and New).  My contributions to support Captivate users since 2008 should end, who will take over?  My blog has over 3,000,000 views, its content is now irrelevant for the new Captivate.
