Double result slide

Contributor ,

Hello again,

I inserted some more question slides into a project (CP9) and also changed the quiz to "submit all answers".

Unfortunately I have two result slides now which does not seem to be correct.

If I try to delete either one CP just says "the result slide will be hidden" but I can“t delete the redundant one.

One seems to be from the old settings and the other one for the new quiz selection (e.g. submit all).

What do I do?
In the worst case scenario I have to delete the whole quiz and start from scratch.

How do I do that?

Thanks for any help!

Here is a solution that worked for me.

  1. Create another project
  2. Copy / paste all your question slides in that new project
  3. Delete the question slides from your original project
  4. Delete (as opposed to hide) the Quiz Result slides (since there were no more question slides in the project)
  5. Copy / paste the question slides from the new project back into the original project. That last operation has re-created a Quiz scope in your file with a single Quiz result slide at the end of the quiz.

It sounds to me like your project may be becoming corrupted.

I would suggest you create a new blank project of the same height and width dimensions as the old one and then copy/paste your slides into the new project.  That may strip out the corruption.

Thanks.

Will my advanced actions be lost?

Not necessarily.  Depends on your Captivate version.  Test and see first.

Advanced actions triggered by interactive objects will be copied along.

However those triggered by slide events are not always copied. CP9 has

intelligent naming which is also a great help.

Excuse my ignorance...what constitutes a slide event again?

Drag and drop?

Thank you so much.

Slide events are On Enter and On Exit.

Roger that!

That helps a lot. So I can check for those.

You mention in step 4 to DELETE the Quiz Results slide.  Please note that current versions of Captivate no longer allow the Quiz Result slide to be deleted.  You can only HIDE it.

Actually Damien from Belgium helped me here and fixed it by that method. I think you know him. He had written books about cp for a long time.  It's not my solution. Apparently if there are no more quiz slides left you can delete.
