drag and drop interaction - how to add a new object - Captivate 9

When using the drag and drop wizard, I can drag the cross hair on a source object to a destination object to specify where that source should be dragged.

However, after I've completed using the wizard, if I decide I want to add a new source object to a destination, how do I do that? (I don't see the cross-hair on objects once the wizard goes away.)

Adobe is promoting drag and drop as being super simple. In reality it is complex with many options. Are there any links where I can find detailed information about this feature?

I never use the wizard but the panel itself, you can mark objects as drag sources or drop targets there.

Totally agree that D&D has a lot more power, but you need to explore. I have one blog post with tips, but for Cp9 with InBuilt States added to D&D objects, should write some more.

Thanks for the tip to use the panel rather than the wizard. I found your blog with tips and will read through that as a start on my explorations.

I tried using the drag and drop panel to specify drag target and drag sources, but still end up with the same quandary. There is more than one possible destination. How do I specify that a certain drag source is supposed to be dragged to a certain drag destination -- there is no plus sign.

The drag and drop process seems very unforgiving. There's no undos when using the wizard, although I can click the Back button.

I can't find in-depth information anywhere about this feature.

Does anyone know where I can find the "Drag and Drop Extravaganza" presentation?

Jay, could you explain what you mean by 'There is more than one possible destination. How do I specify that a certain drag source is supposed to be dragged to a certain drag destination -- there is no plus sign.'? When you have marked the different objects in the panel, and leave the + sign alone, move your cursor over a drag source and you'll see the center point that you can drag to a drop target. If you want it to be able to drag to different drop targets, you can create a 'type' for targets, in that case creating one link to one target will immediately link the drag source to all the drop targets of the same type. I stopped using the wizard because it is indeed unforgiving, which is not the case with the panel.

Be careful not to rename objects after creating the links, because links will disappear. I don't know why this is the case, logged that strange behavior as being a 'design flaw' but got no answer. It can be that I didn't explain well enough.

At this moment cannot find links to recorded webinars, links are no longer active, which I reported as well without a reaction.
