Drag sources not snapping to center

New Here ,
Oct 08, 2015 Oct 08, 2015

Hi - I created a drag and drop interaction and specified that the drag sources snap to the center of the drop targets. However, they are offset to the lower right when dropped.

Some of my drop targets had shadows around the borders. I removed the shadows, and that worked. However, other drop targets did not have shadows to begin with, and those are still offset lower right.

I tried enlarging the drop target area, but that did not have an effect.

Any ideas? Thanks!!

I would love to double check over here, are those two shapes, with different stroke/fill and a text in case of the drag source?

Indeed, I see exactly the same bug in this case. It works only perfectly if you snap the top left corner, for all the other snap locations the drag source has an offset. You could use top left corner but this is definitely not what is expected. Bug appears only for SWF output.

Could you tell which version you are using, if this is a normal or a responsive project? Please post a screenshot of what you mean by 'offset' and the Snapping properties for that target object in the screenshot? Center for each object means the center of the bounding box, which not always will look like the center of the object if you have strange shapes.

Thanks - I am using Captivate 8 in a normal project. Following are the snap properties and the offset result. The bounding box matches the shape.

Thanks for testing this. I will use the top left corner until the bug is resolved.

Did you log the bug? I did so immediately. But later on, when I tried the same work flow on my desktop PC, I couldn't reproduce the bug at all. For some reason, it appears on my laptop but not on the desktop PC although they run exactly the same OS and the same version of Captivate. I am still looking for the reason of this 'inconsistent bug' but couldn't find it until now. Are you able to try this out on another system?
