Draggable Object throughout whole project?

I need to create an object, which

  1. will be displayed with a toggle button (show/hide),
  2. must be draggable,
  3. contains subtitles (closed captions) for the audios,
  4. contains a button for getting to the next slide. When entering the next slide, the draggable object must remain on the same position as on the slide before, but the next closed caption text must be viewed.

Is that even possible in Captivate??

You cannot drag a group neither. Only single objects can be dragged. D&D cannot be timed for a whole project.

Subtitle (CC) cannot be dragged neither.

I'm sorry, but without probably a lot of JS programming, this is not something that can be created easily.

No, do not believe that is possible out of the box. An interactive object

can never be a drag source. Why do you need it to be draggable?

The draggable object itself is not interactive, but offers a button, so the draggable object should be an draggable group, to be correct. But I understand your question behind this - imho it´s kind of a strange navigation. We´ve discussed this with our costumer several times, he insists on it. He wants the audio to be stopped when clicking on the toggle button, then the subtitles should be displayed (so instead of listening the learner can read). As with audio on the course automatically forwards to the next slide, in audio off mode there must be another way to get to the next slide. Therefore our customer wants a button inside the displayed subtitle text box. And to pretend the subtitle text box to cover any of the slide content, it must be draggable. And the "next slide button" must not be seen when audio on ...

Strange, huh?

Dear Lilybiri,

may sound weird, but THANKS for your answer! Sometimes it´s good to know that there are things which are so unrealistic and no way to solve in an easy, cheap way. That´s a good argument for the discussion with our customer. Taking into the account of methodical and didactic aspects I think classic navigation via buttons and menu and classic subtitles are still the best to use for any learner.

No, it is not weird. I am aware of some unrealistic expectations of clients, which will not really contribute to the learning efficiency but would be very expensive to implement. I tend to discuss at those moments as well, with all the arguments I have.
