Editing Software Simulations (Cp6)

We have the software simulation in Captivate 6 and we needed to edit it, but not just the classic trim and cut. Is there a way to make the simulation video "faster" or "slower"? Kind of like shrinking/enlarging its duration but not affecting the overall recording (that would be not losing any of the click recordings or anything).

The FMR options are only trim, split, and insert, but I'm not sure if they would work (I was thinking maybe "splitting" the video and "inserting" a copy of the specific section we want to make longer but I'm not sure if that's how it works). Any ideas?

Confused, sure you talk about a sim, not about video demo (cpvc)?

I was pretty sure it was a software simulation, where the program records the mouse movements and such... The file extension is .cptx and not .cpvc .

That is very old, CP6... don't have it anymore. If my memory is correct, Video Demo was introduced with that version but it had no easy way to insert a raw cpvc slide in a cptx project. For a pure video output I never use a software simulation anymore, always turn immediately to the Video Demo. There are several reasons: FMR slides have bad quality (even when recording in 32-bit whidh is essential), and they are Flash-based. Focus on this moment is on HTML5 output, not on Flash output anymore since the Flash Player (not Flash application itself, which is now labeled Animate CC) will disappear completely from browsers in a couple of years. The editing of FMR slide is indeed limited. It is just a flash recording in real time of what was accomplished during the recording by the developer. The only recommendation is to avoid FMR-slides, if you don't want to replace them by CPVC-output (in CP6, later on it could be recorded as CPVC directly). In many instances that is possible: instead of moving the scrollbar, click somewhere on it or use the buttons at top/bottom. Dragging cannot be replaced, but most other mouse movements can.

Thanks for the input! I think it was an old course that needed some changes, but I'm not sure as I'm not editing it myself. I'll see what we can do for the moment. Thanks again!
