You get that warning because you used the command 'Open URL or File'. If you don't have files linked to the project, ignore the warning. If you have files, you need to check that they are referenced with a relative path, and upload them so that it can be found with the same path. That could be in the root of the published package, or in the callees folder in case of publishing to HTML5, not so important if the path is correct. For website links, you could also have used the web object.

Thank you for your reply. it's the uploading the URLs to the output folder or callees folder I'm confused about; do I just do it as url shortcuts?

What's the web object?

You don't need to do anything, it just for files that you have to upload. From your question I see that you only point to URL's.

Alternative is using the web object, to be found under Objects, Web.

I think this is a local security issue as it's just not working. It works when I preview within Captivate but not once published. Thanks anyway.

Most likely a security issue (as you suspect).  Upload your content to a web server and test from there.

Just a  weird little tangent here: if the linked url points the user to a downloadable pdf or other file, then it will work in preview (because you already downloaded the file from the web address), but it won't work in the published version.

Links like that should work in the published version.

How are you testing? After uploading things to a server or from your local C drive?

What is the Captivate output? HTML 5? SWF?

Cheers... Rick

I publish it and load to my testing sandbox in my LMS (Blackboard) - it only happens with urls that point directly to a document or file that is going to download on access. Viewable pdf or word docs on sites like Google Scholar open right up.
