FIB matrix quiz question in Captivate 9

I want to incorporate a 3x4 decision matrix where some of the variables are FIB as a quiz question.  Is there a way to import the matrix into a quiz question and then mark the corresponding cells as blank wherein the learner selects the correct answer from the drop down to fill in the blank? The question must also be able to report using the standard reporting function so we can capture the data in one report.  I've spent days going through the forums as well as other resources and can't seem to find a solution.  Any help or work around ideas would be awesome.

It can be done with dropdown interactions. However those interactions are not interactive, which means they cannot be scored. They do have an associated variable, if you can report that variable to the LMS or in another way (which is possible with JavaScript). Did you ever use that interaction? I have some tips in this article:

Thanks for your quick response.  I looked at the drop down interaction and I won't be able to format it in the way I want my Matrix to look in addition, using JS to program the variable to report is outside of the LOE budgeted for this project.  However, if I create the table with the Table Interaction and leave my FIB cells blank, I can put it into a FIB quiz question, mark the answers as blank, and through some creative formatting, format the FIB answer block to line up with the blank spaces on the underlying table thereby allowing me to keep the reporting functions.

I don't understand your explanation. The Default Quiz slides, FIB included have a very strict design with rules. Did you try to put a table widget in quiz slide? The table widget cannot be filled in, can only show values, there is no way to select one of the cells and mark it as blank, that is only possible with words in a sentence.  Moreover a FIB slide is always evaluated as a totally correct or a totally wrong answer, there is no partial correct possible. You can use multiple dropdown interactions on one slide, at least those will allow to choose an answer.

The JS part is not that hard.
