Hi everyone,
I'm just trialing Adobe Captivate and started with a new video demo. I chose the settings in the first screenshot below, ie. YouTube Widescreen etc. Before I hit the record button I could see the whole of the Chrome browser window (within the red rectangle) but after I recorded a few seconds and viewed the video it was only showing a portion of the window in the final video (see second screenshot below). I was just wondering if this is how Captivate works or whether I'm doing anything wrong? I thought that whatever you're viewing within the red rectangle before hitting record is what you see in the final video.
Would really appreciate any advice.

Are you on Windows? If yes, can you check the Display Percentage? For any recording (video demo or software simulation) it has to be reset to 100%. With the present screens Win tends to increase that setting to avoid having too tiny text.

Thanks for the reply - yes, I'm using Windows 10. I just checked the settings and it wasn't on 100%. I changed it to 100% and tested again and it worked. Could I ask another question: I'm experimenting with using a video demo instead of a software simulation. After I've recorded the video, I'd like to insert some animations - for example, I'd like to have a circle animate around a particular area of the screen to draw attention to it. Is it possible to do this with video demos or would I need to do a software simulation to achieve this?

In Windows, check Display under Settings.

Yes thanks - I've done this. Could you possibly answer my question regarding the animating of circles as in my previous comment?

That is a feature that is present in Camtasia and in Presenter, not natively in Captivate.
