flv disappears

In captivate 6 I have a series of 11 flv's included in a project. All of the original flv's were in the same folder as the captivate file. As soon as I published the course (to a zip file in the same folder), all of the flv's disappeared. Also, in the past I've had issues when making minor changes to a project containing flv's. Upon republishing after making a minor change, I would get an error message stating "The flash video can not be loaded. The output may not be proper". The only remedy was to reload each and every flv. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

My guess is that these file have been 'moved' into the .zip file when you published.

If you copy them out again, they should be unharmed.

When you publish again, click the 'Publish to Folder' option on the Publish dialogue. The files should be copied into this folder, and originals will remain with the Cp 6 file.

As to the WTF effect: Captivate will publish files to the folder provided in the location field of the Publish dialogue.

IF you select "Zip Files," captivate will try to zip everything in the folder on the path provided in the location field, and it may make other files in that folder 'disappear' as they have been moved and zipped up in the new zip file being created.

My best practices has been to select either 'zip files' or 'Publish to folder.'

Adobe could solve this by converting these two text boxes to a single pair of radio buttons.
