When my lessons are launched within our LMS, it opens in a a small IE window where you cannot adjust the size. In speaking with our internal LMS people they said they are unable to tweak files on their end as I could when I was using Moodle.
Is there a way to add a button to a Captivate project that would allow user's to get a full-screen view? Or any other option? From what I understand enabling the Full-screen option when publishing doesn't work when published in SCORM or AICC. I'm using Cp4 but upgrading to Cp5 next week.
Thanks!

Hi there
Captivate and full screen are troublesome. This is because Captivate renders things in a bitmapped fashion. As a result, any deviation in presentation size from what the Captivate author used when developing will inevitably result in a loss of clarity. The degree to which things suffer depends on how much scaling is occurring. It may not be too bad and it may be awful.
The full screen option in Captivate really doesn't stretch the presentation to occupy the entire screen. What it does is create a second HTML page that contains a link and JavaScript to open the first HTML page in a manner where as much "chrome" (toolbars and such) is removed from the browser in order to allow maximum space to be available to the presentation.
This is true for all versions of Captivate. 5 included.

Thanks for the info, Rick. The problem is the courses are unusable in the current size and there doesn't seem to be any way to tweak the settings in Peoplesoft LMS settings as I could with Moodle. If anyone has has experienced this and found a workaround let me know!

Certainly sounds like an LMS issue.
As a workaround, what happens if learners press F12? On most browsers that will switch to full screen mode.

Brightonjon, I attempted this once I launched a lesson and got the following Developer tools screen:

If doing an F12 would automatically make the window fullscreen that would be a viable option. But with this the user would have to do the resizing themselves. Thanks for the suggestion, I wish this would have worked!

D'oh!
I meant F11 - my apologies.

But yes, I believe you'd need to get the learner to press it manually - assuming it works of course.

O.K. F11 works. It would be nice to be able to have the Captivate swf/html file do this automatically upon launch. But F11 will work for the time being.
Thanks for your help!

Hi There,
You could log an Enhancement with Captivate team for this feature at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform&product=5.
Thanks,

I submitted a feature request on this topic. It would be great to have a full screen option embedded into the skin play bar, much like youtube videos.
In the meantime, we are using the fullscreen widget created by Torsten.
*******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
How would you like the feature to work?
Add a "fullscreen mode" button to the skin so users can click it to play their sim in full screen mode. The full screen would have to scale appropriately and all interactive elements / full motion recordings / embedded videos would have to function correctly.
Why is this feature important to you? Over an over we have to limit the size of the Captivate file to accomodate the screen for the smallest computer. This occurs with my employer at the hospital. This also occurs in my contract work, where I create sims used by K-12 users. This is typically 800x600 or sometimes 915x680
If we had a fullscreen mode button, we could create sims using a biggest screen size resolution. This would give use 200-300 pixels of real estate to work with. This is huge in terms of space!!

Please take a look at the following fullscreen widget, which works the same way as youtube videos:

Hi,
you might need a virtual keyboard, if you have text input boxes in your Captivate file.
Take a look at it and let me know what you think:
