Games listed in Interactions not supported by this slide

Do any slides in Responsive Captivate 9 support the game choices? I keep trying to add one to a slide, and am told it's not supported for that slide. What slide DOES accept them and make them usable?

Thanks.

For any of the Learning Interaction games to be usable in Responsive projects would require that the game widget itself was coded to be responsive.  To my knowledge none of them are.  I expect that's why you cannot use them.

Thanks, Rod. It sounds like you must be right.

How DOES one use the games, and in what format? I'm confused.

Not in Responsive CPTX projects, but you should find the work in normal CPTX project files published to either SWF or normal HTML5.

So the kids would only be able to play the game on desktop? They could take my responsive lessons on iPad or phone, but then for the game, switch to computer?

I'm worrying that folks are already beginning to let computers go...

You don't seem to understand the basic principle behind HTML5 is that it can be seen both on desktop AND on mobile devices.

The fact that learning is NOT responsive doesn't mean it can't be seen on mobile devices.  Normal HTML5 is perfectly OK for mobile devices.  Responsive design is more applicable to situations where you need the content to reformat when changed from landscape to portrait.  If you content is just going to be seen on desktops and mobile tablets in landscape view then normal HTML5 is fine.

Responsive design might be necessary if you have some compelling reason why your content should be seen on mobile phones in portrait view, but if not, just use normal HTML5.

My problem is that I've been away from Captivate for many months, and you're right...I've lost some of the hard-won basics I worked so hard to learn. Your note brings a ton back, so I'm hoping my understanding isn't gone for good, just misplaced. Now I can put it all back in perspective.

Thanks, Rod. I appreciate the time you spent on my brain-fade. I think I'm over it. This one little piece, at least. Sigh. None of it comes easily for me, unlike most things I do. 😕
