If you have ELS 2.5 then you will have Captivate 5.5.  Why would you want to run Captivate 5 if you already have a version later than that?

Hi,

This new client of ours has come with up with a strict requirement to use Captivate 5 in a new project.

We thus have the need of using the lower version instead of the updated version of the Captivate. So, just needed a confirmation if our current license of Elearning suit 5.5 can be used for captivate 5?

Thanks,

Rahul

Then the answer is NO.  Your license is for Cp 5.5, not 5.0.

You would be able to open CPTX files created by your client using their Captivate 5 version software, but if you edited those files in Cp 5.5 then your client would be unable to open them afterward.

I suggest that you and your client think about the fact that both of you are currently 4 or 5 versions behind where Captivate is now and there is no longer any support for your versions from Adobe.  Your versions cannot publish to the most recent Flash Player versions, and you have absolutely no capacity to create learning content for mobile devices.

Rather than worrying about Captivate 5 or 5.5 you should both be looking at getting subscription licences for Captivate 9. Otherwise, in a year or two it may no longer be possible to even open your project files with current Captivate versions.
