How can I add and use a .3ud file in captivate?

Can you explain what such a file extension means? I googled and found this 'Unknown or unassigned file extension'. Why do you need to embed this in Captivate?

I'm wondering if it was a transposition error and what was meant was U3D?

Sorry, I meant to say U3D.

I figured out how to get it into a PDF document, but I wanted to use the same graphic file in Captivate.

I'm using Captivate 8
