How can I share a project for review before publishing.....

when the reviewer doesn't have Captivate or Captivate review?

I created my first project, published it as a SWF/PDF, and sent it off to my supervisor. I published it this way because he doesn't have Captivate. Now he has some revisions and I can't get my original .cptx file back so I'm redoing the whole thing (thankfully it's short).

Is there a way to send him projects for review before I publish?

It depends which output you want: SWF (will disappear soon) or HTML5. You used an interactive pdf, which is Flash-based (user needs Acrobat Reader with Flash plugin). If you want to show HTML5 output (which will be the only one left in the future) you need to publish and upload to a webserver or a LMS. I don't understand why you lost the cptx, which is the raw file.

Thank you for the input. The cptx was still listed in the directory but grayed out. When I tried to open it I got an error message. I've recreated the project since then so I can't remember exactly what the error message said.
