How Do I Change Branch Aware Skin Editor Code?

Explorer ,
Oct 31, 2017 Oct 31, 2017

Hello Captivate Users,

I am aware that the Branch Aware checkbox removes most of the playbar options in the Skin Editor. However, is there a way that I can manipulate the code so that I can still have the Play/Pause/Back/Forward buttons and Progress Bar?

Back and Forward buttons can be added to the slide of the course (though I prefer those on the bar as well). Does anyone know WHY they were removed from Branch Aware? Degrading of the Skin Editor Options is the only thing preventing me from using Branch Aware for courses and it would really help to be able to use this option.

Best Regards,

Catherine N.

Seems logical to me. Branch aware means that you want the user to follow one of more branches, so that the Quizzing system variables will be dynamic and have only the scores of the items on the visited slides. The playbar is only useful for pure liinear courses, which is not the case here. If you allow the progress bar, which can be scrubbed, the goal of the Branching will be messed up, same with the Back and Next buttons.  As you mention: you can use custom Back and Next buttons (use shape buttons on master slides or timed for a number of slides), which will be controlled by the developer to preserve the branches. The other buttons like CC, Mute... can also be inserted as custom shape (toggle) buttons.
