I have a slide with a (Progressive Download) video on the timeline that autoplays. The video itself has no audio, in fact, the audio has been recorded separately and resides on the slide for closed captioning purposes. However, when I pause the slide, the video continues playing. Any idea how I can tie the video to the slide so that the video is synced with the slide audio?

How did you insert the video? You need to insert it as multi-slide video if it has to be controlled by Captivate. Event video is playing independently.

Lilybiri, I simply dropped the mp4 onto the stage and selected NONE for skin. This project is calling for a number of procedural videos that range from 20 seconds to just over a minute. I'm opting not to use multi-slide because I'm not trying to pause and have the user interact with the video. I want the user to be able to pause the video in case they want to take notes or whatnot and play from where they left off. Any ideas? If ActionScripting is required, I'm down for that as well.

You have competing priorities here.
You say you want to have the audio in the slide timeline synched with the video on the slide but you DON'T want to insert the video as Slide Synchronised.
You can't have the one without the other. Choosing Multi-Slide Synch video DOESN'T mean you have to spread the video over multiple slides. Just one is still OK. The advantage is that the video timeline is then locked to the slide timeline and pausing the slide also pauses the video.

If you use event video, you need a skin if you want the user to be able to pause the video. But your original question was talking about audio on the slide that has to be synchronised with the video. Only way I know is to use multi-slide video in that case, to make that possible.
