How does Captivate Report a score to the LMS on a Multi-SCORM package?

I'm getting some odd results with the score being reported to my LMS and am hoping for some help.

If you have a Multi-SCORM package with a scoreable quiz in more than one SCO, does Captivate report all of the results combined together?

Without going too deep into what I'm doing and why it's set up this way, I have two SCOs with quiz slides.  In both SCOs I registered a 100%, but the package reported a score of 99.51% to my LMS.  Now, it's absolutely possible that this is an LMS problem (can't say what we use, but it's junk), and the score doesn't matter to my organization anyway...only complete/incomplete.  But, I'm wondering what's up.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Did you check Advanced Interaction panel (F9) for the total score. Is there not an interactive object scored somewhere?

To detect if the problem is with Captivate or with the LMS, best way is to upload to SCORM CLoud, which is the standard for SCORM. If it works fine there, problem is with the LMS.

Thanks for the response.

Each SCO has 10 questions worth 10-pts each and each SCO is set to be "Branching Aware".  Each SCO also has a single button that is worth 1-pt, placed after the questions but before the results slide, that is there to account for situations where the learner doesn't see the questions in the SCO. The learner is skipped over the slide with the button if they answer the questions.

In the example I sited, all of the questions in the first SCO were answered correctly (100% and 100-pts) but the learner skipped over the questions in the second SCO and selected the button (100% and 1-pt).

I'll create a test course that I can try in the SCORM cloud and see what happens...I can't load the actual course due to the information it contains.

As always, thanks much Lieve for the help.

Captivate modules all report their scores separately to the LMS.  It's the LMS that has to decide how to calculate the overall score for the course.

If you have two modules that reported 100% but the LMS is only showing less than 100% for the entire course, then my guess would be that you have some interactive object in one of the other modules that is set to Report to Quiz but is NOT getting set to Success.  Go through all modules and check your Project > Advanced Interaction screen to see if any button or TEB is set to report to quiz.

Lieve is also correct that another good thing to do is test in SCORM Cloud.

Thanks much for the info Rod.

I added a little more detail about what I'm doing in my response to Lieve, but your explanation of the scoring process in Captivate is helpful.  I would think that making the course "branching aware" would account for what I did, but maybe not...I know Captivate does weird things sometimes (e.g. my colleague had the results slide working fine until she deleted one of the elements; the page title I think. Afterwards, the "Percent" field on the results slide kept coming back NaN%).

I appreciate the help.

Branch aware workfs fine, makes the quizzing system variables dynamic, never had issues with that feature at all.

I'm wondering if Branch Aware may not be picking up that the slide with the scored button gets missed.

I'm willing to bet that you don't get the weird scoring if that button DOES get clicked.
