How to add a user prompt, such as "Click Box," in Videos?

We will be using Captivate mainly for videos. How can I make a video pause in certain sections (such as where it says click "New") and only proceed when the user completes that action? I only see how to add a click box to an image, not a video. I've added a "Click Box" to the video but it won't let me do so in Edit mode and I can't seem to preview it as it continues to play where I have added the "Click Box."

In that blog post I did pause the video slide with advanced actions, but only wanted to show a popup, not to have the learner 'do' something. You are talking about actions by the learner, didn't specify what you meant. If ithose 'actions' are more than just looking at a popup it will be easier with static slides in between the video slides.

Video is passive. Are you talking about a video inserted in Captivate? If yes, know that event video cannot be controlled by Captivatre. If you want possible control you have to insert synchronized video. Maybe have a look at this blog post:

I created a Video Demo within Captivate. I have added text boxes to indicate an action, and would like to have the Video Demo pause until the user clicks that button/performs that action. I am able to trim and edit the video within Captivate so I'm not entirely sure I understand what you mean when you say it cannot be controlled by Captivate. Thank you for the blog! When looking at it, the pause button indicated under Timing doesn't seem to be an option:

Indeed, that was my first sentence: a video is by definition a passive output. When you talk about click boxes, buttons, you need interactive output. That was the reason I offered you the link to my blog post about Interactive Video buttons. You will have to publish to HTML output. That means you have to use a cptx file, in which you can insert video clips created with Video demo, using the Insert, CPVC slide. At that moment you can use workflows as described in my blog or anywhere.

So I need to save a Video Demo in another file and insert it by clicking Insert > CPVC Slide? I added an extra shape to hide it but I don't see that option under Properties. I'm trying to follow along with the blog but I don't think I'm doing that very well! Would you mind very quickly giving me a step by step process once the Video Demo has been inserted into the slide?

A Video is PASSIVE, that is what I try to explain. You want something  INTERACTIVE. A normal video can have a Playt/Pause button, maybe a FF etc but you want more. That is the reason you have to use a cptx-file.

You have to split your video in clips, which can be done in the Video Demo Editor, which you still can open using the Properties panel, button Edit Video Demo for the CPVC-slide.  Put each of those clips on a different slide. Between those slide you can add normal slide for the 'actions' you want the learner to do? You add a Next button, which can appear later on the slide or which can be shown based on a conditional advanced action.

Did you look at that blog post?

In between clips is where I can include the ability to pause the video? I think I understand now, the clips need to be in separate slides. I cannot pause within an active video. Thank you for taking the time to explain!

Yes exactly, this is regarding a user's action in order to allow the video to proceed. I think I understand the way it works. I'll split up the video into separate slides and include static slides in between.

It seems as thought I don't have the "Action" option, only Style and Options.

Actions tab is only available for INTERACTIVE objects, not for static objects.

I am very busy at this moment. Maybe you misunderstand but I'm just a user like you. I offer a lot of tutorials on my blog and spend a couple of hours daily on these forums. But I have to earn something as well, and cannot give a step-by-step workflow for everyone, sorry. It wouldn't be correct towards my colleagues developers and consultants.
