How to fade in an object via an action?

I have a hidden object on a slide which I would like to show and fade in after a button is clicked. At the moment my advanced action looks like this:

Show > TextCaption

Apply Effect > TextCaption AlphaFromTo (Effect start: 0 sec, Effect Duration: 1 sec, Initial Alpha: 0%, Final Alpha: 100%)

What is happening though is that the object is simply appearing instead of fading in in 1 second. I am able to fade out objects by applying a similar effect (opposite alpha settings) and then hiding the object after a delay.

Not sure how to do this for fading objects in however. Has anyone done something like this before?

Can you post a screenshot of the timeline panel of the slide?

Here is a screenshot. This text caption is hidden by default and I would like to fade it in via an action.

That is only the timeline of the slide, I would like to see the complete timeline for the slide! Need to see the interactive object(s) with its pausing point(s).  What has to happen after that effect is applied?

Hello Petr.

I tried the same advanced action you posted and it is working without problems. I don't know what could be happening. Check if the click button has the right advanced actions assigned or do it again and save it with a different name. Restarting Captivate have worked for me sometimes.

Regards, Fernando

Hi Fernando, yes the correct action appears to be assigned and the action is firing correctly, except for the object fading in. I have tried restarting Captivate and renaming the object but that didn't seem to make a difference unfortunately.
