Hi,
I have custom questions in a quiz : smartshapes included in the quiz (adding points).
Let's imagine a simple custom True / False question.
I wonder if it's possible to :
1. reset all questions so the learner can retake the quiz (I imagine I can control my own custom questions)
2. get a new score (can I reuse the same smartshapes that already added points ?)
3. report the new score to the LMS as a new attempt (any ideas ?)
If Captivate can reload the entire course (as it behaves when you refresh the page) when the learner press a button, that could work too.
Thanks a lot
Phil

In the Quiz Settings > Pass or Fail you can specify multiple attempts are allowed and then check the box to Show Retake Button on the Quiz Result slide.
Clicking this retake button will reset the Quiz result to zero and all quiz questions or scored interactive objects that are set to Report to Quiz back to original state.
You would need to relaunch the entire module from the LMS again in order to record a new attempt at that level.

Hi Rod,
many thanks for your answer.
I have the feeling that with multiple attempts enabled, the retake quiz button doesn't add much value.
Built-in questions are reset each time you visit them again (before or after seeing the result slide).
Scored interactive objects are reset each time you visit them again (before or after seeing the result slide).
The number of attempts is incremented each time you leave the result slide.
Score is set to 0 each time you leave the result slide.
So a custom button with a simple action Jump to slide that takes the user to the first question does the same job as the retake button.
Am I correct or am I missing something ?
Thanks
Phil

If your quiz questions are being reset each time you revisit those slides then I think you may have inserted Knowledge Check questions, not true Quiz Questions.
The Retake Quiz button not only jumps the learner back to the first scored quiz object but it also resets the quiz score back to zero. You cannot really do that any other way.

Thanks Rod,
The true quiz questions are being reset after seeing the result slide when the multiple attempts option at the quiz level is enabled.
Don't you get that behaviour ?
I haven't used Knowledge Check questions.
I seem to get the same result as the Retake Quiz button with a simple button that Jumps anywhere I wish : quiz score is reset, attempts incremented, etc.
I have created a simple test projet to make sure I still get this behaviour. I do...
Thanks
Phil
