HTML5 and SCORM 2004 issues

New Here ,
Sep 20, 2018 Sep 20, 2018

I've published my course to SABA LMS. I use HTML5 and SCORM 2004. My course has 63 questions all in one SCO and it is scoring.

Problem I have is when I leave early from the course, lets say at question 52, when I re-launch it I find myself at question 43 for some reason. THis happens over and over. It even happens at the quiz results slide. Lets' say I fail and close the course it. When I relaunch it, you would expect to still be at the quiz results slide, but no back at an earlier question in the quiz again.

Anyone else heard or had this problem before?

I'm using Captivate 2017 64bit

Thank you,

Joseph

If you're using SCORM 2004 then it should NOT theoretically be an issue with the Resume Data not having enough capacity.  That's normally only a SCORM 1.2 issue.

At this point the issue would appear more likely to be due to some failing in your LMS.  Have you tried uploading the same SCORM to SCORM Cloud and test how it works there?

Actually after I went home i realized that it is SCORM 1.2 HTML5, everything else I wrote is correct.

Can you expand on the issues you mentioned regarding SCORM 1.2.

SCORM 1.2 didn't allow enough space for the Resume Data so when quizzes reached a certain size or number of assessment components the data required to bookmark everything would overload the buffer and cause issues with the LMS.

SCORM 2004 version 3 rectified this issue by allocating a huge amount of storage for Resume Data.  You'd almost never fill it up.

Since you mentioned you've discovered your course actually IS set up for SCORM 1.2, your issue now makes more sense.  I suggest you try to find out whether or not your particular LMS can handle SCORM 2004 and if so, then change your settings. If not, break up your course into smaller modules.
