Did you ever find a solution to this? I'm having the same issue.

The submit button reappears when you move the mouse again after clicking it.

Please, give some details:

  • Which version are you using (full number please)?
  • Which OS
  • Is the D&D slide used a Knowledge Check or as scored Quiz slide?
  • Wht is the setup of the D&D slide: attempts, actions,....?

Captivate 2017 - 10.0.0.192

Windows 10

Non-scored knowledge check

Ugh, the forum isn't letting me insert images.

2 attempts

On success - execute advanced actions (displays a shape with positive feedback text and shows the next button)

On failure - execute advanced actions (displays a shape with negative feedback text which I also use to hide the failure caption by making it the same color as the failure text. Why they didn't use the "retry" caption like MCQs is beyond me)

Pause after 1 sec

Reset button

Anything else? Many thanks in advance!

D&D slide has a serious terminology bug, which I logged many times but is still not fixed. The so-called Failure action is really a Last Attempt action, same as for the quiz slides. It will not be done after the first attempt at all. If you have Infinite attempts checked it should be dimmed, because it will never happen.

Totally agree that there should be a Retry shape (because feedback is mostly a shape, not a caption). and/or to have the possibility for multiple Failure messages (like in quiz slides). That would have solved your problem. Have a look at the blog post where I added link below. it could give you some inspiration.

I have explained this problem more in detail in a blog post:

I can work with the odd terminology and the failure caption weirdness, but the Submit button reappearing on the screen after being clicked looks bad. Especially since the Reset button disappears like it's supposed to.

We'll find out soon if the client is OK with an auto-submit setup.

Thanks!

I double-vhecked in a d&d project, and changed the setup to be like yours. After the second attempt both the Sumbit and the Reset button didsappear for me. I left the Failure action to Continue because I still do not know the content of your advanced action.

Inserting an image in the forum is done with this button:

InsertImage.png

BTW  the most recent version is 10.0.1.285, but I don't think that is linked with your problem.

It's when you submit a correct response that the Submit button reappears.

When attaching an image (jpg or png) I get an error message "That image type is forbidden."

Perhaps I need more points before the system lets me add images?

I don't know where you post the question: is it in the eLearning Community portal? Or on the Jive forums? They are synchronized and I am on both. Do you see that bar which I showed?  Nothing islinked with points.

Submit button disappears for me on a correct answer as well.
