Hi,
I have created a custom TOC with links that take the learners to different slides. There are a total of six links. The first three links work fine, but the last three links will not work. I have rebuild the slide several times over and still have the same problem. I am at my wits end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am using the Jump to slide and the select the slide I wish the users to get to.
Thank you.
Having another option than Optional will often cause problems like you had, because you want to allow navigating away from the quiz which is not appreciated by Captivate unless you have kept the default option for Required. If all the quiz slides are at the end, and you don't allow navigating away from those quiz slides you'll not have that problem. I understand the reason.

Do you have a Quiz in the course?

Hi Lily,
Yes I do. The last three links do not point to any quizzes.
The second and third link point to a quiz

It is probably due to the Quiz in that case. What is the choice for the Required field under Quiz, Preferences, Settings? Do you allow Backwards movement? I hope you don't have Pretest slides, nor Branch aware activated?

No branch awareness. No backwards or pretest.
100 % slide view. Enable reporting for this project. Quiz pass. Under quiz setting the hide play bar only checked off.
It is a standard drag and drop nothing special.

What is the choice for the Required field under Quiz, Preferences, Settings?

Quiz name
Required: Answer all- the user must answer every question
Object id number: quiz #
Interaction ID prefix: the field is empty
The only box that is checked off is the "Hide playbar in quiz"

That is the culprit. Set the Required field back to 'Optional'. There are other ways to force the user to answer the questions: do not use the Skip button and hide the playbar on quiz slides as you already did.
On the whole it is a bad idea to allow navigation where quiz slides are involved.

How do I force the users to answer the questions? I have the drag and drop set where the user must get the right answer before moving on. We don't care about the score. Also, I don't want them to go back to the previous pages to get the correct answer.
If I understood your note, you want me to hide the playbar?

Indeed, you told that you checked already the option 'Hide Playbar in Quiz'. If you keep only the Submit button on the quiz slide, the only way to proceed to the next slide for the learner is to answer the question. You have to take out the Back button as well of course.

Okay. I will follow your suggestion.
I tried something out and I am not sure if it makes sense but it works. I moved both quizzes to the end of the project and tested all the links in the TOC. All six links work. I don't understand why it does.
Have you experience anything like that?

Thank you Lily, I understand what you are saying. I will follow what you have outlined.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
