Hi,

I can't find the Asset files when I download them to my OS X iMac. I found older versions. Any suggestions?

Thanks

What version of Captivate are you using?

The trial version of Adobe Captivate 9. For now I can use the characters that same in the demo projects. I will copy and past a character into my job.

I have another very important question.

1. Why aren't the visual effects showing up in my preview when I test it on my browser?

2. Why is the timeline ending at a certain point? It's not playing the animation fully.

Thanks for your help.

I did find that turning off Pause After (seconds time) allows the timeline to play to the end.

However, now it goes into the next slide during preview.

You have to understand the timeline and the significance of pause in interactive objects, again something that is normally explained at the beginning of every Captivate training. Timeline is the core of Captivate and seems still to be unknown to you. Pause is meant to stop the playhead at a certain moment to prevent automatic advancing. That is meant to give control to the user, a typical example is a Next button, pausing towards the end of the slide to allow the user to remain on the slide as long as he needs, will proceed to the next slide when the user clicks the Next button. That Next button will trigger an 'action' like 'Go to Next Slide'.

This is an old article, most of it is still valid. In Captivate 9 the Effects are now part of the global slide timeline as sublevels for the object timelines.

Tiny Timeline Tidbits - Captivate blog

Always put the pause after the appearance of the last object (if objects are staggered on the timeline) or, in case of applied effects, after the end of the effect.

Thanks.

So I will put the pause back into the buttons so it does not go directly into the next timeline.
