Hi All,
Recently I upgraded to Captivate 9 from 6, after having recorded slides in 6. When I went to edit I noticed that I had a duplicate audio file in the Library. Once I made sure I was editing the file I wanted, Audition added the term "clip" in front of it and the duplicate numbers disappears from the Library.
NOW, however, another set of duplicates are showing up. Both have the same name but they are of different sizes.
I'm hesitant to use Audition to edit the files as I don't want to create another duplicate .
From my example above, the file was Narration 36. Now I have two Narration 39 audio files in the library. It seems that as soon as I edit one, then another audio files gets duplicated.
I have a screen capture, but don't know how to upload to this discussion. If anyone can help, great.
Take care

You can insert screenshots using the small camera icon in the toolbar:
When you edit a file, the original file will be left in the Library and a new file is created, indeed. There is a Usage indicator (number) and you can also check the Usage either with the right-click menu or with a button on top of the Library. You can delete the unused audio clips if you want. You can even select all unused items with the right-click menu.

Here's the screenshot, thanks for the tip Lilibiri!
For the screenshot, I dragged the Library window under my Timeline. Notice that in the Timeline there's Narration39 and TWO Narration39s in the Library ... doh!

They have a different size. Is one of them a WAV file and the other a MP3? Did you import a MP3 file? It will be converted to a WAV file by CP. When publishing CP will compress to MP3. Do not import MP3 but WAV files! If you import a MP3 it will be decompressed by Captivate and that is why you see a WAV-file being added. Do not hesitate to edit/create audioclips in Audition or Audacity, but do not save to MP3 but import the original WAV file into Captivate: better for quality.

5 out of 5 stars for this only program Duplicate Files Deleter. Others are definitely not recommended. Try it to believe it. It deletes everything duplicate. Please use this program and nothing else & I am being serious.

@liona123 Sorry, but this is totally off topic. The original question is about 'duplicates' which are not really duplicates, but in the Library of a CP project. Whatever application you proposed has nothing to do with this question, because it will be aimed at deleting duplicate files on a system. There are quite a lot of that type of apps, please.
