Image Button Issues in Responsive Projects

New Here ,

I am using image buttons on a responsive project, these are on the master slide and when I move to the different view points (desktop, tablet, mobile) the button itself resizes but the image inside does not, this results in the button image being cut off in smaller views. Does anyone know how I can make the image scale along with the button?

I would suggest you both log an enhancement request for this.  It would seem that the image being used in the fill does not scale with the button as it resizes.  You might call it a bug if you like.  Either way, log it.

Make sure you uncheck the title button and click the stretch button this will resize the image within the button.

When using an image button, the image does not resize, @RodWard is right.

Another solution is to use a Smart Shape used as a button instead of an image button. You can use an image fill for a Smart Shape and that image would resize. Simply give you button the same dimension as the the image used for the fill in the Desktop view.

The only problem with this approach is that, if such a button is on a Master slide,  it does not support the states, so you will loose the Hover and Down effects for this kind of button, unless you place it on a regular slide (vs a Master Slide)

Did you create those image buttons for each breakpoint view?

An image button is an old asset, it cannot be used on a master slide, nor timed for the rest of the project.

The newer shape buttons do not have those limitations, but indeed CP9 introduced a bug where the InBuilt states for those shape buttons are not appearing when used on master slides. Same happens with Transparent buttons where states do not appear on Quiz slides.

Step-by-step instructions for creating a shape button from an image are to be found in:
