Is applying a new theme supposed to globally change the styles?

Hi,

I'm trying to apply a new theme to projects and I am finding that the styles don't change to match the theme. Is this the idea of applying a theme?

Is there a way to quickly change all styles? I find if I update them via the style manager, I still have some objects which have not been updated, for no discernible reason.

And even when I change a style via the properties panel and click 'update existing style', I still find that a few are not changed.

Any clues?

Ruth

Did you read my blog post about Themes?

Object styles are part of the theme, indeed. But if you did override the style for some objects, those will not update when you apply another theme. From what I see in consultancy jobs,  the majority of CP-users do override styles all the time. An overridden style is indicated with a + sign next to the style name (conventional way also used in desktop publishers like InDesign). This is probably what happens in your case.
