Running MS-Windows 10 and Captivate 2019.

I am going to have to re-install my OS. Might have to wipe my HDD.

I only have one project. If Save the .cptx file, will I be able to recreate the project just by putting the .cptx file back in the "My Adobe Captivate Projects" directory?

The cptx file is the raw project file. After re-installing Word you can open any DOC file in that application. Similar to that after re-installing Captivate you'll be able to open any cptx file, provided you use the same version or a later version of Captivate.

Not sure if I understood your question correctly, why do you say 'recreate'? You do not need to recreate, it will just open in Captivate like it did before the re-install. If you used a customized UI in Captivate, you may need to re-customize but that has nothing to do with the project files themselves.
