In both PowerPoint and Storyline I'm able to crop an image to a shape. Is this possible in Captivate? It's very useful to create circular images.

You can do an image fill from the properties panel.

You are filling a shape with an image but be careful, you'll have to choose the settings carefully depending on the size of the image. Fr one image I will never choose Tile but stretch which means you have to be aware of the width/ehight ratio. Make also sure that the option 'Fit to Stage' is checked in the Image editing dialog box.

It’s unfortunate that this isn’t a better feature in Captivate. For being an Adobe product the image features and interface are disappointing. In PowerPoint I can easily crop a photograph 1:1 and then change the shape.
There is no true crop to shape option in Captivate. Using the image fill doesn’t work if your image is larger than the shape.

Crop in the literary sense means cutting away. You want to rescale and crop at the same time.
I agree abouit the UI, don't like it myself. However, as I have told multiple times already, Captivate combines so many features from bitmap graphics apps, from vector graphics aps, from ausi apps, from animation apps, from video apps, from desktop publishing apps, from presentation apps and it adds automatic features like software sims, creating interactivity based on learner control etc...; that you cannot expect it to have everything of all those applications. I use Photoshop to have the correct size of my bitmap image that I want to use as fill for a shape. I use Auditon to create better quality audio clips, edit SVG's in Illustrator, create complicated animations in Animate CC, in After Affects. I would love to have everything in Captivate, but wonder if it would still be manageable? Sorry fro my usual ranting.
