Is it possible to change the starting position of the mouse cursor in Captivate 9. I would like it to always start at the upper left.

Are you talking about the mouse's position on the first slide or on any slide?

When I record a Software Simulation in a Responsive Project, I would like the cursor on every slide to have a starting position on the upper left of the page (like the first page does)..... The only I can do this now is to duplicate the slide after each one and move the cursor back to this position. This however causes twice as many slides in the project. I add all the mouse movements manually, so being able to edit the starting position of the mouse pointer on each slide would be ideal, but at this point the pointer appears as a continuous thread from the first slide remembering the position where the previous slide left off.

You shouldn't use the automatic software simulation recording in that case at all. Maybe you misunderstand the concept with slides: the idea is that the user is not aware of the fact that the simulation is not a video but a sequence of static slides, sometimes a movie slide in between. For that reason the mouse has to have a fluent motion, and that means the end point on a slide will have to be the same as the start point on the next slide. It seems very weird that you want that to be different.

The responsive project is what is required... we are building interactive simulations that the student is able click on a show me and hint button throughout the simulation... everything works perfectly.... except for the fact that the mouse cursor always starts at the same position that it was in the last slide. The problem is... when the slide changes and the user wants to get help using the show me... they have to note where the position of the cursor was last located. When it comes in from the upper left, the student can easily see what is being demonstrated. I know this kind of difficult to explain without seeing it.

Please give some more details: are you talking about a mouse object that you insert on a slide, or about the automatically inserted mouse objects during capture of software simulations?
