Keeping Audio files in PowerPoint when creating a new SCORM in Captivate

Hi All,

I have a PowerPoint with multiple audio clips that have been trimmed in PP, but when I try to create a new project and publish to SCORM in Captivate 9.0.2 I lose them. If anyone can advise what I am doing wrong I would sure appreciate it. I tried it in iSpring and it worked seemlessly, but I really don't want to switch 🙂

Thanks in advance!

You're not doing anything wrong.  The 'issue' here is that Captivate doesn't bring in the slide audio from PowerPoint.  If you want that audio to be in the SCORM output (or any HTML5 output) then you need to extract the audio files from the PPT and insert them to each slide in the Captivate project where they belong.

If that's too much trouble, by all means use iSpring if you have it.

Using the right tool for the right purpose can ehlp:

  1. Conversion of a PPT file: use a plugin, iSpring is probably the best
  2. Want to create a passive video: use Camtasia
  3. Want to create engaging eLearning assets with interactivity: use Captivate
