Layout changes when publishing

Hey

I created a template in Adobe Captivate 8, which I still use today in Adobe Captivate 2019. In this template I use a fixed text caption as title. When published, this title will appear in a different place, not at the top of the slide. What is possible to avoid this? Thanks in advance for the tips & tricks!

Since some years and version templates (cptl-files) are buggy.  In most cases a theme will be sufficient, but have no idea what you have in that 'template', not even if it is indeed a cptl-file. Terminology is a big problem.

Did you ever upgrade the Theme in the different versions? Themes have changed a lot especially in the most recent version 11.5. I don't know which exact version you are using neither, because CP2019 has 5 different releases. Which OS?

Text captions are almost unused in the Themes packaged with Captivate, they have been replaced by Shapes. Is your 'title' based on a placeholder? Are you creating a responsive or a non-responsive project? Lot of unknown details. 

It is possible that your 'template' is not compatible anymore, or even corrupted. But too many questions in my comment here, it is just a guess.

Thank you for the quick response. I now notice that it is indeed difficult to answer my question, I have clearly shared too little information for that. But the feedback received is certainly helpful; I'll try to create a new template in the most recent release of Adobe Captive!

Please, not a template! At least if you mean a cptl file. Cannot you reach your goal with a Theme? I have published about 20 blogs about themes. A reference pdf with all links to be found in:

Hoi! Ik spreek inderdaad Nederlands; ik denk niet dat ik eerder al in deze community actief was, maar ik heb ooit wel nog via e-mail informatie rond Adobe Captivate uitgewisseld.
Ik heb destijds inderdaad een cptl-file gemaakt, en dit met het thema dat onze organisatie binnen PowerPoint gebruikt. Eigenlijk heb ik gewoon een afbeelding van dit thema genomen, dit aan een masterslide toegevoegd en daarop twee text captions geplaatst, die ik dan via de tijdslijn vastgezet heb... Zo wou ik ook in Adobe Captivate de huisstijl van onze organisatie respecteren, zonder dat ik daartoe steeds eerst een presentatie in PowerPoint moest maken. Alle tips om dit anders aan te pakken blijven welkom!

Een thema in Captivate is veel krachtiger dan thema's in Powerpoint.  Een thema heeft niet enkel stijlelementen: thema kleuren en fonts, objectstijlen (met inbegrip van Rollover en Down states voor interactive objecten), master slides (die  niet enkel placeholders maar ook interactive objecten kunnen bevatten met advanced of shared actions), skin etc.  Uit wat u vertelt, lijkt een thema ruimschoots voldooende voor uw toepassingen. Maar maak het thema in Captivate.  Dat kan ontzettend veel tijd besparen. Voeg daar nog een aantal externe bibliotheken aan toe, met veel gebruikte assets en shared actions. Ik weet niet welke versie op dit moment gebruikt wordt, maar ik heb al meerdere bedrijven geholpen om hun huisstijl in één of meerdere thema's te gieten.  Indien ook 'responsive' projecten beoogd worden, heb je minstens twee thema's nodig: één voor gewone en één voor responsive.
