Mac, latest Yosemite install - Captivate 8 will not launch unless in Safe mode (tried all existing hints from forums)

I tried everything documented (including setting permissions for both System and User Libraries. Nothing.

Hi There,

Greetings from Adobe...!

It seems few third party applications on your machine causing trouble for Captivate. In order to diagnose the issue could you please confirm the below points-

  1. Can you try to enable the "root" user account with the help of instructions given in the link - Enabling and using the "root" user in OS X  - Apple Support
  2. Once root user has been enabled then try to login under that account and launch Cp 8 and see if it works. If it do not work then please reinstalling it once under the root user account and see if that makes any difference.
  3. If Captivate 8 stuck at loading screen then it could be a problem with fonts. You can try removing all third party fonts from your machine and keeping only the fonts used by your Operating System and then try to launch Captivate 8 and see if it works. You will find the fonts here- ~\Library\Fonts
