Moodle, Scorm 1.2, Captivate 2017 course not loading on Edge browser, stuck on loading GIF

Hi all,

My Captivate project works in Firefox and Chrome browsers using Moodle, Captivate and exporting to work with Scorm 1.2.

An offline load into Edge works and the project plays.

Uploading the course into Moodle, then loading within Edge Browser leaves the project stuck on Captivates loading screen GIF animation and will then not progress into the actual project.

Can anyone help? Thanks.

Moodle has been set up to load the course into a new window. I have tried loading the course into the standard window to see if that helped, but so far nothing fixes the "loading" GIF and lack of progress past it.

Upload the same zip SCORM to SCORM Cloud and try to view it from there in Edge.  Does it then work?  If so, the issue is with your Moodle implementation somewhere.

You don't mention whether this content is SWF or HTML5.  Which is it?

Hi Rod,

I am using HTML5. The project is uploaded to Moodle using the zip file exported from Captivate 2017

OK.  But I was suggesting that you upload to SCORM Cloud and test there so that you can find out whether the issue is really with Edge with Captivate, or with Moodle.   Your Moodle server might be the problem.  HTML5 output from Cp 9.02 onwards requires the web server to allow JSON files.  I happen to know that SCORM Cloud does allow JSON, so it's a good comparison test.

Additionally, there is a special LMS setting in Quiz Reporting for Moodle.  Have you tried using that instead of the default SCORM 1.2?
