more than 1 button on a slide

I am working in Captivate 9. Some of my module slides have buttons that open up documents for learners to access.  These docs are all pdfs.  These documents are stored on our organization's adobe connect server and the URLs work great. In a few cases, I have slides with 2 buttons, each opening a different document.  In preview, both work beautifully, each opening the corresponding doc in a new window and both docs are allowed to open.  order of clicking buttons makes no difference. screenshot button problems.jpgHOWEVER, after the module is published, only one of the buttons will open the corresponding doc.  It depends which is clicked first - that one is functional and then when the 2nd is clicked, I get the "click" sound but no doc opens.  My settings for each button are set as follows:  On success, open URL; continue playing is deselected; infinite attempts.  Attached is the timeline.  Many thanks for any assistance!

I'm not sure what the problem might be. It might be helpful to see the properties panel for each of your buttons to know what might be going on. All the logic behind the buttons would be located there.

In the meantime you can also take a look at a video tutorial I produced on Adding Job Aids to Your eLearning Project. Your answer might be there.

Thank you very much.  I will look at your tutorial now.  Here is a copy of the properties inspectors for the buttons.

You need to remove the pauses from the buttons, or remove continue playing project. Once one of the button is clicked, the playhead releases and moves into the disabled portion of the button, the right of the pause point.

Thanks for your help.  The buttons are not set to have pauses - only the slide as a whole and "continue playing project" is deselected for both buttons.

If they are the buttons shown in your image they pause 1.5 seconds into your slide.

Also is this SWF and is it the last slide?

Thank you.  I am not sure how the buttons got set to pause there - I never set them that way and I set them to display for the entire slide.  The published version is html and it is not the last slide.

Thanks for the suggestions, but nothing has worked.  Maybe it is gremlins.

Buttons default with a pause.

Can you try in a new file, just copy and paste the buttons.

Unfortunately, I have several modules that are behaving in this way.  I believe it has something to do with Captivate struggling with more than one interaction on a slide, because I am also having this problem with my final slide which has a button that opens a completion certificate for saving or printing by the learner and a button that exits the module.  Both buttons won't work.  I have been struggling for 3 days, so I have decided to change my design so that only one button is on a single slide.  Thanks again, everyone!

There is no problem whatsoever with multiple buttons on a slide. It depends on what you want to do with the buttons. All available at once and being clickable in any sequence and/or multiple times? Slide will have to be paused, probably all buttons at the same time. Be sure to uncheck the  option "Continue playing project' for the buttons to avoid releasing the playhead.

If you have a look at my blog, you'll see many examples of slides with multiple buttons, interactions which proves that it is not at all a problem for Captivate.
