I am using Adobe Captivate 9 (64 bit)
When I export my slides to HTML5 they work fine. However, if I export as MP4 files, the highlight boxes don't behave the way they were designed. Here's an example:
This highlight box is working correctly. This screenshot is from the HTML5 output.
Here's what it looks like in the MP4 version. This also happens if I "Preview" the slide within Captivate. I believe the variable that's causing this is the SWF format, which I believe is used in the preview version, as well as in producing the MP4 version. When it exports, it first makes a SWF version, then converts to MP4.
There is another problem, which you can only see in the actual video, and that is the animation itself works differently in both versions. The way the boxes are animated is with "zoom-in," with initial zoom set to 150% and final zoom set to 100%. This works fine when playing the slide in Captivate, and when published to HTML5, however, in Preview and MP4 modes, the box kind of sweeps in from the side.
I'm going to try removing animations and other features like drop shadows, in order to see if that resolves the problem. Let me know if there is another possible cause for this discrepancy.

Did you use Preview in Browser and Preview HTML in Browser? Play slide is not a Preview method.
If I want a mp4 video, I would not use a cptx but a cpvc-project (Video Demo) which exports directly to MP4.
