Multiple choice selection not showing in Safari on new Macbooks

Hello!

 

We have SCORM modules uploaded to Moodle and some of our users using the Safari browser on their new Macbooks have had an issue with our multiple choice questions. They can rollover each choice selection and a highlight is shown, however when they click to select their choice, the bubble doesn't show the tick mark to indicate it has been selected (it should have a dark blue circle). If the user clicks the submit button, the question is still being scored and all other interactions are working as intended. Below is an image of what it looks like when the user hovers over the correct answer and clicks. The circle does not change to reflect their selection.

Myself and my team have tested this on our Windows computers in different browers without any problems. The one person on staff who has a Mac has an older model and hasn't been able to recreate the problem in Safari. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar and has an idea to what may be causing it.

You are not the first user to log this problem with Safari. I have no workaround, but am used to warn everyone to avoid using Safari for Captivate output. Both Chrome and Firefox are also available on Mac systems and have lot less problems. This is not the answer you expect. However that is the problem with HTML output, since each browser is acting differently, IE and Safari are the worst in the class IMO.

Thank you for the quick response! That's definitely good to know. We have quite a few people using our content so we'll be sure to recommend Chrome or Firefox! We've been using the 11.5.553 version of Captivate and are in the process of upgrading to 11.8 so we weren't sure if this was an issue that will be resolved by upgrading.

11.8 is necessary if you are on Win11, or using a M1 chip and/or Monterey (both for Mac). 

I doubt that this will solve the Safari issue because Safari often updates and Apple is notorious for messing up other applications.
