Hi! I have a video on multiple slides. After the publication checked the Mute button. The button disables audio through the slide, i.e. on the current slide has disabled the audio, next don't disabled, the third disabled audio, etc. How to make that the audio in the video was blacked out everywhere and don't mute if we go to next slide? Thank you.

Your question is not totally clear to me. Are you talking about a multi-slide synchronized video? Or do you have multiple event videos on different slides? Is that 'Mute' button on a default playbar or a custom mute button? If Mute is on, what do you want to happen on the next slide?

Yes, I have multiple event videos on different slides. This is 'Mute' button on a default playbar.
When Mute is off on current slide, I want Mute off on all slides in my project. When I will go to next slide Mute needs to be off too.

That should be the case automatically? I just tried it out, inserted two event videos on two slides, muted on the first slide with the default playbar and the second slide remained muted? Is that not the case for you? Which version do you use?

No, don't automatically. The transition should be on the button "Next" on a playbar. When two slides it works. Make more slides. It is don't work. I use version 9.

I don't understand, what is the link between the Next button and the Mute button? Or, perhaps you are not using the Mute button on the Captivate playbar, but the one on the Control panel for the event video? I insert a third video on a third slide as well, still muted but I use the Mute button on the Captivate playbar. Event video is playing independently from Captivate as you perhaps know?

1. I put three slides with the video in captivate project.
2. Publish with the default playbar.
3. On the first slide mute sound.
4. Move to the second slide. There is no sound - It is correct (because the sound is muted).
5. Move to the third slide. Here the sound is - Why??? We muted the sound. Button sound on the playbar is off, but sound is playing.

That is the situation I created as well, and it worked as expected. I was using version 9.0.3.

Where can I download the 9.0.3 update?

Sorry, was a typo, I meant 9.0.2.437. If you are not yet on this version, use Help, Updates to install the patch. Do not forget first to clean the Preferences and to delete the Layouts folder in the Public documents.

Thanks for the reply.
I have updated the version to 9.0.2.421, but nothing has changed, the issues still remained.
I don't know how to clean the Preferences and to delete the Layouts folder in the Public documents. Please, prompt me.

Google these terms:
adobe Captivate reset preferences
That will get you plenty of different threads about it.

If you have Administrator rights on your system, to clear the Preferences, look for the subfolder 'Utils' under the Captivate installation folder and run the file CleanPreferencesWin.bat.
If you do not have those rights, look in your profile (Users\your username) for the folder Captivate 9.0 under AppData\Local\Adobe. Captivate has to be closed, delete that folder and when you restart CP a fresh folder will be created. You can lose custom items, if you have a lot of them read this article: Captivate 8.0.1 Install? Keep your Customisation! - Captivate blog
The Layouts folder, which is a copy from the original one in the Captivate installation folder can be found in this path:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\Adobe\eLearning Assets

I updated my the version to 9.0.2.437, deleted the Layouts folder and cleared preference by using CleanPreferencesWin.bat. Unfortunately, nothing has changed.

I'm out of ideas. Since I couldn't repro your problem, maybe the file got corrupted? Did you try to change the sequence of the slides: that would make clear if it is not due to one of ths slides instead of to the sequence?

hi!
Have you found a solution to this problem? I'm seeing the exact same thing with my audio. Playing on every other slide even after I've clicked 'mute' in the playbar. I'm publishing in HTML5 and using Cp9.
Thanks!

Which version of 9? Latest one is 9.0.2.437.
Which type of audio? Background audio, slide audio, object audio or audio started with 'Play Audio'?

running Cp 9.0.2.437.
Slide audio. Entire slide is an Mp4 with narration. Mp4 automatically starts on entry and stops at end of slide. Volume is muted via playbar.
To advance to next slide learner clicks a 'next' button that appears at the end of the slide.
If this is some sort of corruption in Cp9 project. Do you think I can fix this by creating a brand new project Export New Preferences then Import the new Preferenced into this corrupted project?
I have a lot of lessons with this corruption and would like to find the quickest/easiest fix.
Thanks!

So it is not an audio clip but a video clip? Is the video inserted as event video or as multi-synchronized video? Event video plays totally independent of Captivate, multi-synchronized video is controlled by Captivate, can be stopped and muted.

It's a video clip, Mp4. Inserted as a multi-synchronized video to play for the 'rest of the slide."
The Captivate playbar mute button initally works but it doesn't continue to work as the project advances to the next slides.
