My second effect is starting too soon

I have a graphic that I want to bring right to left into a slide using a motion path at the beginning of the timeline and move it out left to right at the end, with it sitting still in between. When I run the slide, the graphic slides  in and then immediately starts moving to the right, without stopping until it's time for the second effect to start. How do make it sit still in the middle of the timeline?

I've tried repeatedly to both drag the file over and browse to select it, and i keep getting errors. I can't make it work. On my timeline, the slide is 11 seconds. The left-to-right is at the top of the Effects stack and starts at 9.3 seconds. The left-to-right is under it and starts at 0 sec. and runs for 1.5 sec. It's a hand that's off the screen at the right, flies in to the left onto the screen, is supposed to pause there until 9.3 and then fly back off the screen to the right.

(For the screenshot, I clicked Add Media and dragged the file from Windows Explorer and also clicked Select Files and browsed to the file. Numerous times. Get error message every time.)

Please, post a screenshot of the timeline! Come to this thread on the Jive forums (leave the portal alone, have similar problems with Media there), and use the Insert image button:

That is only part of the timeline.... want to see if you have interactive objects on that slide, Only the timeline is OK, don't need the stage.

There are two buttons, but I don't see any pausing point. You seem to plan to publish to HTML5 because Typing text is a text animation, flash-based. How did you test? Try F12 which is Preview in Browser. If you do plan HTML5, use F11.  Is this version 10 (2017)? I know sometimes motion paths cause issues, but from the timeline I cannot see anything wrong. I use that type of in and out moving quite a lot. Reason for my asking about the timeline: have a look at my last blog post Timeline - Advanced Workflows - Captivate blog
