My slide automatically pauses after a few seconds and doesn't display the other objects that are further down in the timeline. I have customized next and back buttons on the slides along with a resource and glosarry button. I'm also using the default player control but only for rewind, audio, and TOC. What could be going wrong here. Please help. Captivate I'm using is version 8.
Thank you,
Priysha

Please, can you post a screenshot of the timeline?

You have two buttons and two shape buttons that pause the slide at 1.5secs, waiting for a reaction of the user. If you want the slide to continue to play, while the buttons remain visible and active, you'll have to extend the duration of the timeline of those buttons and make the pausing point happen much later (both can be done in the Timing Properties panel). Beware: you have another interactive object later on, another shape button, that pauses at about 11.5secs (the one with an effect applied to it).

Thank you, that seemed to help. I'm learning Captivate and certain times just flounder at simple steps.

Maybe this very old post can clarify some aspects of the so important Timeline panel, should be the first panel to learn about in depth.
Tiny Timeline Tidbits - Captivate blog
It looks now different (colors) and you can have groups, but principles explained in that post are still valid.
