Non-response state when recording to Power Point slide

New Here ,

I have a new Dell Inspiron desktop, windows 10, Powerpoint 2016. My Captivate 7 does not work smoothly so I am testing Captivate 9 it has the same problems.

I import a Powerpoint file and begin to add audio to the slides. All is well for 5 or so slides. It varies a slide or so each trial. From this point on When i click the Audio icon nothing at all happens. When i click it a second time, the wait circles appears, it can take one to two minutes for the Recors Audio window to appear. It appears with a loud chime each time. The same delays occur with the Audio pull down windows.

This happens with Powerpoint only. Does anyone know of a fix?

Thank you

If it's a while since you cleared your Project Cache I would suggest you try doing that.

But ultimately you should be trying to avoid using PowerPoint at all to begin creating courses.  It's going to limit your options far too much.
