Our team uses a shared .cptx file that we use as a course template. The controlled version is saved in a central location, and any time we build a new course we pull down the most recent copy. We recently noticed a difference in the appearance of the objects within the file, and the reason seems to be the type of device (laptop) that is used to open the file. Associates that see the objects correctly are using Lenovo laptops and those who are seeing the incorrect buttons are using Dells. The Dells tend to be newer and have higher resolutions; some are even touch screen. We've played with many resolution settings, but that doesn't seem to help. Maybe we are missing something.
The only other time we've seen something like this, it was related to the Captivate update version. We are all using Captivate 9. Some are still on 9.0.0.223 and some have updated to 9.0.2.437. The update versions don't seem to be fixing the issue either, because we have associates using both machines on both versions and the only the associates on Lenovo devices are seeing the correct versions. This is very confusing, and we've spent a lot of time trying to find a fix but we've been unsuccessful.
Does anyone have a suggestion of some settings we can look into, whether it be in Captivate or on our devices? Thanks.
These buttons are CORRECT. Notice the slight embossing and the Myriad Pro font. *There is also a more prominent rollover state on these buttons.
INCORRECT version. People with the Dell laptops see this set of buttons. It renders in Times New Roman, and the buttons are missing the embossing and have different rollover states. Any suggestions on how to get them to be "correct" on both device types?
*Update - we just fixed the font issue! We confirmed the font used in the CORRECT version is Myriad Pro. The Dells are apparently missing this font, and we were able to find a way to add it. The font is no longer the issue. We will likely change the font that is used to something that is more universal. Any suggestions? Why would the Dells be missing these fonts anyway?
Have something to add?
