On failure.... exe advance action not working

Community Beginner ,

Hello!

I have drag drop feature enabled... on the success I have an advance action and that works.

On failure, I have an advance action set up as well, but it NEVER works.

The actions themselves are correct I believe.. I must be missing something else?

Do you know that so-called Failure action is a Last Attempt action? How

many attempts do you have?

I have infinite attempts set up.

When I correctly did the drag and drop the correct action shows -  when I unsuccessfully do the drag and drop nothing happens.

Since you have infinite attempts, the failure action should be dimmed because it will NEVER happen. As I wrote it is a LAST attempt action, same as for quiz slides. IMO this is a confusing UI bug which exists since many versions. I will introduce another bug report. Failure caption will appear with each failed attempt, but not the failure action.

I agree with Lieve.  The terminology for this option should say something like Infinite UNSUCCESSFUL Attempts so that it becomes obvious what it does.

What most new Captivate developers find hard to understand is that the Failure actions only get executed after the final UNSUCCESSFUL attempt, that is, when there is no way the user can do anything else.  Most newbies are expecting the failure action to be executed after EACH unsuccessful attempt, but that's not the way Captivate works.
