Opening a captivate 4 file in my PC which shows no reaction in captivate 4.

hello all, I am working on a specific project and needed to open a captivate file on Captivate 4. (i have to use version 4 for some specific project reasons)

hence tried opening a file in my PC which shows no reaction.
but that particular file works fine in other PCs using the same captivate 4 software.

The loading screen works fine till loading icons... and vanishes with no reaction in software.

Any idea why it is happening?
please help.

Which OS do you use? CP4 is over 8 years old, not compatible with recent OS.

Windows 7, due to corporate restrictions i am not allowed to update or Mendel with the systems.

If my memory is correct, some users could use CP4 ib Win7 but many had difficulties, because CP4 definitely was not announced to be compatible with Win7.  You will be in the first group, it depended on hardware configuration but that has been so long ago. I was lucky because I have been able to use CP4 on a Win7 system.

To get Cp4 to work on Win7 required a hotfix from Adobe.  It may still exist but it's not listed on the default Adobe page where they post all the updates and patches for each version:
