Pause demo recording in Capitvate 8?

New Here ,
Aug 29, 2015 Aug 29, 2015

Is it possible to pause a demo recording in version 8 using the pause/break key?

When I hit the pause key, nothing happens. The recording continues.

I am sure the key functions properly (Win+Pause/break brings up the computer properties).

So, what's the secret to pausing a recording?

Thanks.

Are you talking about a cpvc file or a cptx file? Pause will only be functional for a software simulation capture in a cptx-file, not for video demo recording (cpvc).

Proceed this way:

  • End the recording
  • You'll see the preview of the video and can go into the video editor (bottom right)
  • Put the playhead at the end of the present recording
  • Choose Insert, Video recording and you'll be able to continue the recording
  • This will be two video clips, you can use a transition if you want between the clips.

Thanks for the reply and help. Your suggestion is quite helpful.

Is there any way to combine cpvc files?

Up to now, I have been creating my 'insert' video clip extensions in new cpvc files.

Use a cptx project and insert each cpvc as a cpvc slide, using the Insert

menu.
