Play button/playbar unavailable

New Here ,

Whenever I publish a video to SWF in Captivate 9 and upload it to our LMS, the play button and playbar do not work when the file first loads. It is almost as if something is blocking them. I can tab to the play bar but I can't click any of the buttons. The play button/play bar worked fine in my previous version of Captivate 6. I didn't change any of the SCORM settings.

There could be some issue with your playbar now that you've moved from Cp6 to Cp9.

To test if the issue is with the playbar, take a copy of your course, change it to a different Skin or Theme, then publish and upload to your LMS.  See if you can then use the playbar.

I just tried using a different skin and playbar and re-published. It is still doing the same thing. Playbar/play button aren't accessible once the video loads in the LMS.

OK.  You've got me thinking about another scenario here.  Is it possible that the video is just sitting over the top of your playbar and for that reason you cannot see it?  (Videos will usually be sitting above other slide elements.

I can see the play bar, I just can't click any of the buttons in the playbar if that makes sense. It's almost like an invisible shield is overlaying it. And then when I close the window and re-launch the video, the playbar works fine.

This may be something to do with the LMS player interfering with the playbar.

Try uploading your content to SCORM Cloud to see if it works there.  If it does, go back to your LMS vendor and ask for technical assistance to find out why their player is behaving differently.

I called Adobe about this yesterday and he had me upload it to the SCORM Cloud and it behaved the same way. They weren't very helpful. He said the only way he could help me is if I let him take control of my computer(?), which is prevented by my firewall. I am 99% sure this is a bug with Captivate 9. I have submitted a bug report but I am not sure that will help either. Thank you all for your insight.

Is this a default or a custom playbar?

I have the same problem, but with publishing in HTML5. I have produced the work, when I publish it to my LMS(Moodle), the navigation buttons do not show on iPad and mobile. They do show on my computer. I have had to add my own buttons in.
