Playing a Video Created with Captivate

New Here ,
Dec 01, 2016 Dec 01, 2016

I created a training video with Captivate.  I then tried to preview it.  It would only preview each "slide" versus playing the whole video.  I then tried publishing the video to view in HTML or IE.   It started up ok, but then kept stopping at each "slide".  I'm not sure what this "slide" thing is, but I just want the video to play through without stopping.

Sounds like you are unfamiliar with the way Captivate works.

You seem to have created a slide-by-slide simulation, and there may be an interactive object on the timeline pausing playback at intervals.  Check your timeline and look for Click Boxes or Buttons.  Either one may be configured to pause the timeline.

If what you really wanted was a simulation video, then you should probably recapture the simulation using the Video Demo option.

If you captured that software simulation in Demo mode, this wouldn't have happened. But it looks like you created it in Training mode, which means that a user interaction is expected on each slide: either a click (example: on a menu) or a text entry. As Rod points out this should be visible on the timeline: look for the green timelines, which indicate interactive objects, and they should have a pause (it is thin vertical line preceded by a Pause symbol).

If you really only want a video, a demonstration without user interaction, I would strongly recommend to use the Video Demo way of capturing which will end up as a pure video.
