I create a popup animation (frame by frame PNG simple animation) on a slide that is to be shown for rest of project. This popup will be displayed when the user clicks on a button.
I want to know if there is a way to bring back that initial slide (the one that plays for rest of project) back to frame 0 every-time we go to another slide and stop there until user triggers an action to continue to play the rest of that slide (the one that plays for rest of project)?

I have never tried to check if micronavigation works in that case.
You don't show slides for the rest of the project, only items. Is it the animation that you have timed that way? Is Hiding and Showing it again not doing the trick?

I tried that, I even tried making my PNG sequence a video and have it looped but when I "show" it on another slide it plays from where it ended last.
I can't seem to find a way to set the overlaying slide (the one with all the items to be displayed for rest of project) back to Frame 0 and stop there every time we enter next slide.

It is NOT a slide, sorry. It is pretty easy to rewind a slide to a certain frame but it is the object itself that is displayed for the rest of the project. One of the JS experts could help you.
I never used a PNG animation, only OAM or animated GIF's. Did you try to put it on the used master slide(s)?
