I'm working with Powerpoint 2016 and Captivate 2017 on a Mac.
When I import a powerpoint presentation (pptx), I don't get the option to checkmark high fidelity. The option doesn't even show up on the screen.
Please help.
Thank you!
Hi There,
High Fidelity option is not available on MAC. It is only for Windows version of Captivate.

I'm not sure if you do get that option on the MAC version of Captivate. But one thing I would suggest is that you try saving the PPTX out to a PPT file format and try importing that. Sometimes issues with PPTX can be alleviated that way. No promises...

Hi Mayank,
Is there a "work around" or do I have to recreate all of why presentations in captivate?
Thanks,
Donna

Hi Donna,
There is no workaround for it. Can you please let me know the issue you are facing while importing the PPTX in Captivate on MAC?

When I import my pptx into captivate, captivate coverts it to ppt and I loose my audio, hyperlinks, and animations. They import as a simple image.
Thanks,
Donna

I am having the exact same problem.
I am just starting out on this and don't mind creating the presentations in Captivate if that is possible - can I do that with animations and hyperlinks etc?

you do not have to believe me of course, but even for presentations I do use Captivate, never PPT. Captivate has so much more features, and it is a breeze to convert a presenter-based presentation to an interacitve movei. Have a look at these interactive movies which I created that way. The first is based on a life presentation at ALS, the second one on a webinar presentaiton.

Hyperlinks have a lot more possibilities than in Powerpoint, because they can also trigger complicated actions. Here is another example:

As for animations: you have a bunch of effects in Captivate, but it is also very easy to import HTML animations as well. I will not talk about responsive projects (which are totally impossible), my answer is already too long.
You can use assets from the PPT by unzipping the file (it is really a zipped folder) and drag the graphics, video, audio to the Library of a Captivate project. Library is a too little known feature in CP:

Hi Lilybiri,
thanks for taking the time to reply so comprehensively.
I think the problem is that I am a Mac user so functionality is more limited. Have also been looking at Adobe Presenter, which similarly is not available for a Mac.
Think I either need a windows computer or to add a Windows operating system to my Mac.
Thanks again anyway

Captivate has same functionality on Mac as on Windows, have collaborated on
same project with Mac user. Presenter is not available for Mac because
Apple doesn’t allow plug ins.

With that exception for High Fidelity for PPT import, but that you already knew. I was talking about the normal features of Captivate.
